  • I'm sorry that there was no update yesterday, we did not get in to the hotel until later, and after eating supper we were all tired. Yesterday was a very busy day. We started out distributing more of the packets,as we have been doing most of this week. It was raining, but the whole team agreed that we would not let that stop us from speading the Gospel. We donned our rain gear and went walking from door to door putting the bags on porches and doorknobs. Most of the packets have been distributed now, and we praise the Lord that He will use them for His glory.

The team's biggest concern was the rain that has been hanging around for the last few days. We did not want to cancel our block party, so we all prayed long and hard that the weather would hold up long enough to last through the afternoon. We also knew that our church family was praying for us and the weather, so we had confidence that it would all work out for the best. After finishing in the neighborhoods, the initial thought was that we would be canceling the block party, because the weather predicted two more thunderstorms rolling through the area in the afternoon. We ate lunch, and decided that it would be best to at least show up to the park, and if it rained, we would just tel people it was canceled. Well, all of prayers were  not in vain, the area where we were working stayed relatively dry all afternoon, even though the clouds were all around. God did an awesome thing in holding off the bad weather for us.

At the block party, we had multiple chances to witness to children, teens, and adults who showed up. All of it went very well, and the whole team did a great job with all the activities. A picture is worth more than I could ever write here, so make sure you check out the photos that are posted, they will give you a far better vision of what went on. We had all kinds of things for the kids to do, all of which were tied in some way to sharing Christ with them. Crafts, face painting, salvation bracelets, all of it came with something to lead them to Christ. We also did puppets and dramas, so there was something for everyone. Unkut Stones played a small set of songs, and a drama team called Invision was in the area helping the church we worked with, so they came out to help as well. All of it went really well, with only one small period of rain, but nothing that stopped us from the continuing the event. Thank you for all your prayers, it was a great day for us, and we could not have done it without you all lifting us up in prayer.

Yesterday was our last day of official ministry to the people of Milton. Today we took a well deserved day of rest, and visited Niagra Falls. That experience was one that will not easily be forgotten. It is amazing to see all of that water continually flowing, 24 hours a day. It is surely a symbol of God's great power, and one that is hard to ignor. The beauty of that place was an inspiration to us all, and we all appreciated the chance to see it and praise the Lord for His power. We were able to take tours and visit the falls to witness the raw power from different places. It was another awesome day, and we all enjoyed the time of rest. Check out the pictures below for a small view of what we've experienced for the last two days.

  • Thanks again to all of our readers, you all are great, we appreciate all of the prayers and support.

Today we spent the day working on service projects for the people in the church in Milton. Some people went to paint, some people worked in yards, some people helped those in need of housework, and all was done for the glory of Christ. Our efforts have been concentrated on outreach, so we took a little time to focus on helping other Christians today. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures this evening, my camera just broke down and I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. I will ask Rick if he has any pictures to put up, he should. All of the work went very well, we all had a great time ministering to those people.

A group of us went out in the afternoon to distribute some more of the Jesus DVD packets. We went out with an ex Muslim named Sulimon (not sure how it's spelled). He and his family were missionaries in Pakistan years ago, and he has an on fire heart for God. They spend most of their time and money working to get the Gospel out through the Jesus DVD packets, and praying for those in the area that call them with questions about the packets they've received. They have many success stories to relate, and it was very encouraging to hear that our efforts are not in vain, no matter if we think they are not as important as others. We spent the afternoon placing the packets on the doors of many neighborhood homes.

For requests, we would ask that you would be in serious prayer for the block party Thursday. This will be our last day doing the mission work we came for, and it is a critical day. All week we've been preparing for this, and most of our efforts have been to try to bring people to this event. It will be the main time we'll be able to work directly with families and witness for Christ. Please pray that we will have boldness, and that weather would cooperate and everything will go smoothly for us.

  • Hello again friends. Today was spent distributing the packages we created yesterday. We spent the morning and afternoon walking through neighborhoods, handing out packets to the people we met on the streets and in homes, and inviting them to our block party on Thursday night. We had a great morning, but by the mid afternoon it had started to rain, hindering us from doing much more. We will continue to hand out these packets tomorrow. Remember us in prayer, because as I mentioned before, we have nearly 5,000 packets to distribute. The people here are friendly and receptive for the most part, although we have had some people refuse our "gifts." Please pray a special prayer for those people. By rejecting our efforts they are missing out on a chance to have the life changing experience that we have all had as Christians. Satan is hard at work trying to deflect our good work, but we know we have the power of the Lord on our side, and all things are possible through Him.

Wednesday will be spent doing service projects and finishing up the distribution of the packets. We will be working for some of the members of the Sanctuary church, doing various jobs like painting, staining a deck, and stone work. This is a great chance for us as Christians to minister to other Christians and help them with their needs. God not only calls us to minister to the world, but also to help take care of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Some team members will also be going out with a local Christian ex Muslim who is on fire for God, and has a passion for reaching the lost. They will be witnessing to people in the area, mostly people groups the man has a special burden for. Please pray that the weather will cooperate, and that all will go smoothly.

We've made it halfway through our trip, and the Lord is showing us some incredible things. Not only do mission trips allow members to be witnesses for Christ, they allow team members to grow closer to Christ in their own personal lives. The presence of the Lord is strong with us, and we have greatly enjoyed experiencing Him and growing closer as a team. Please pray for the team as we experience God in our own lives, and show His love to those in the area as well. Enjoy the photos from today and yesterday evening.

  • Good afternoon church family and all of our other readers. Day three here on the mission field in Canada has been very productive. After our morning meeting of worship and Bible study, we spent time practicing the dramas and putting together supplies. This afternoon, we have been filling up the packets we will be distributing to the houses in the area around Milton, which is where the church we are working with is located. These packets contain a DVD of the Jesus movie and information on the block party we will  be hosting on Thursday night for the community. Much prayer and preparation has been put into these packets, so please continue to pray for how God will use them this week.

We would like to ask special prayers for some of the people we have encountered this week. As you may or may not know, it is very hard for people of the Muslim faith to come to Christ. Their society persecutes those who are interested in the Bible and Christianity, and many times they face losing their friends and family. We have already encountered this. A young woman who came to the picnic expressed interest to Mrs. Simmons about Christianity, and was supposed to meet with her to talk more about it. When her husband heard this, he told her she was not to talk to anyone in their house about the subject. They have decided to meet at a different location instead, so please pray that the Lord will work in the young woman's heart and lead her to find the answers she seeks.

On a praise note, we would like to share that our team's efforts have made it on the International Mission Board's Compassion Net. This is a prayer ministry, focused on missions. Many requests are submitted each week, and all are prayed for, but only certain requests make it to the main prayer page. Our team has made it onto the main site, where thousands of Southern Baptists and others will be reading and praying for us. You can view this prayer request here. Praise God for what He is doing as you pray for us as well.

Please don't forget to visit the photo section for more of the pictures we have taken, more will be added daily.

Here we are filling the packets.

This is the end result of our packet creating.

    Having fun!

  • We hope everyone is having an awesome Sunday, we sure are! This morning, we visited Sanctuary, the church that our missionaries attend. They will be helping us with our ministry this week, as we will be passing out the packets we create, and as we host the block party on Thursday. We will be doing service projects on Wednesday to help out some of the folks in their congregation. It's a great chance to get to know some of the Christians in the area, and to help them out. Today's service was very good, we all enjoyed the fellowship and the message. We will be meeting again tonight for another service in a different place.

This afternoon we will be resting, rejoicing, and taking the time to do any necessary preparation for the coming week. We are happy to hear from our church family, your encouragements and comments have been a blessing. Our work here in Canada would not be possible without your support. We look forward to sharing more with you all this week as we serve the Lord. Here are some of the photos from today's service.
